About us

La Libélula Latin American Arts Cooperative is a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to fostering connection and visibility for our community through art. As a collective of Spanish-speaking immigrants from Latin America with a deep commitment to social justice, we work to uplift and engage our communities. Through art workshops, exhibitions, and placemaking initiatives, we strive to make our voices seen, heard, and celebrated.

  • Fiorella is a Peruvian-Canadian artist, planner, and community engagement specialist with a Master's in Urban Studies and a Bachelor's in Architecture. Initially trained as an architect and project manager, Fiorella has spent the last seven years immersing herself in arts engagement work, with a strong focus on equity and social justice.

    As the Founder of La Libélula Cooperative, she uses community-engaged art and placemaking to connect and celebrate the Latin American community in British Columbia. Fiorella’s creative approach to urban challenges also extends to her role as Co-Founder and Co-Director of City in Colour Urban Consultancy Cooperative, where she integrates arts and culture into urban planning and public engagement to create more inclusive, vibrant cities.

    Blending her expertise in architecture, planning, and the arts, Fiorella’s work bridges disciplines to explore the transformative power of creativity in shaping equitable urban spaces.

  • Giuliana is a Peruvian-Canadian curator, community engagement specialist, and settlement worker with over a decade of professional experience. She has worked across government, non-profits, and NGOs, focusing on art-based projects, educational initiatives, and community social assistance programs.

    As the founder of La Libélula Cooperative, Giuliana collaborates with artists from the Latin American community to co-curate programs that reflect and celebrate their shared cultural heritage. By using community-engaged art and placemaking, she fosters meaningful connections and ensures that these programs are inclusive, relevant, and deeply rooted in the experiences of the community.

    Her work at organizations such as Diversity Community Resources Society and MOSAIC has further strengthened her ties with the Latin American community, allowing her to develop initiatives that address their unique challenges. With a background in teaching and law, Giuliana combines her expertise with her passion for art to provide transformative opportunities that promote well-being and enrich the quality of life for Latin American migrants in Vancouver.


  • Pamela is a designer originally from Venezuela. With a background in fashion and film, she has decided to focus her career in graphic and digital content creation. She joined La Libelula for the Perceptions of Dual Identities project as a facilitator and digital content creator. After participating in this project Pamela was very inspired by how art can bring a community together and joined as a core team member. She also works at Solid State Community Industries where she is part of the Communications Team bringing support to the multiple co-ops under this Non-Profit.

  • Carolina is a Salvadoran Canadian Art Educator and Multi-disciplinary Artist based in Vancouver. She has a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts with a Major in Art Education from Concordia University. Her work focuses on portraiture and abstract art. Having a thirst to create, she continues to develop her own style and to find new projects in portraiture to enrich her art skills.

    As a Community art educator, she is Inspired by the constructivism learning approach and gives great value to the experience she provides in each lesson. Her objective is to keep creating art education programs that can hold space for meaningful connections and conversations. Her interests are self-love, Identity and empowerment, through art.

  • Natalia is a Colombian photographer, visual artist, university professor, and researcher, with a BA in Social Communication and an MA in Socio-Spatial Studies from the University of Antioquia. With more than 30 years of professional activity, I have traveled the Colombian territory always with the camera doing photojournalism. Over the last 25 years of my life, I dedicated myself to documentary research, emphasizing social projects with the community’s victims of the Colombian Armed Conflict, focused on the issue of Forced Disappearance, the direct victims, and their families. My focus is photography, emphasizing Historical Memory and Human Rights, Gender, and Armed Conflict.
